Who: All Bernese Mountain Dogs and their families, as well as those considering adding a Berner to their family

Educational Presentation:  Grooming your Bernese Mtn Dog, all coats types and ages, with recommended techniques and tools.

Fundraiser: Nail and ear/feet hair trims

This is a great opportunity to come and let your Berner socialize with other Berners in a safe environment.  We look forward to visiting with you and sharing our summer plans for picnics and educational presentations!

We invite everyone with a Bernese Mountain Dog to join us for a walk downtown.  This is a great time to socialize with other Berner lovers as well as letting the dogs get to “strut their stuff” in front of the crowds.
If you have a Berner that can pull a cart… we’d love to have you “draft” with us.  Please note, this is just a bonus, carts are not mandatory

Please dress accordingly, have your Berner(s) on leash, bring a bag in case of a poop clean-up, some treats for your dogs and be ready to smile and wave   This is for the whole family — we love to have kids along!

Annual Meeting Announcement:

While in the staging area just prior the parade, we will hold a brief general membership meeting.  Updates on our recent “rescue” Berners will be available as well as 2012 BMDC of Alaska Specialty Shows and Draft Test announcements.

Election of the new 2012 board will also be held – please note the nominations below:

2012 CERF Clinic Pre-Registration Form – pdf

Appointments are on a first come/first booked basis so get your forms in early!
The cost of the Cerf exams are:
$40.00 per dog **6 or more dogs per one owner are $35.00 each after the 1st full priced dog
You will need your dogs’ registered name, registration number, and date of birth to complete the CERF application form, which you will be given to mail in after your exam.(Applications are not available in advance). When you arrive, your dog will received drops to dilate their eyes and then there is an approximate 20 minute wait, you will receive the application(s) at that time to complete while you wait.

When: Sunday, August 7th, 2:00-5:00pm

Where: Mirror Lake Park (off Glenn Hwy in Chugiak)

Bring your whole family for an afternoon of socializing with new and old friends, playing with our great dogs and enjoying a bbq.

The club will provide hamburgers & hotdogs with all the trimmings -

If your last name starts with the letter A – L, please bring a simple side dish or bag of chips

If your last name starts with the letter M – Z, please bring a simple dessert

There is a lake, so bring your towels if your Berner is a swimmer and a lawn chair for yourself.

Please note - we had a wonderful time here last year with a huge turnout of Berners… please remember that this is a public park and we need to respect other picnicing families. We ask that Berners be kept on a leash or under tight supervision while playing so we do not interupt another family.

The costs of the clinics are:
CERF40.00 per dog OR if you are CERFing 6 or more dogs then the fees are $40 for the first and $35 for each subsequent dog payment due with reservation form.

Semen Collection$300.00 per dog includes collection and 1st year of storage.  We are taking reservations and a $50.00 non refundable deposit.  Balance will be collected the day of your appointment.
